Day 2 of my Seoul stay. Taking Line 1, I made my way to Seongsu-dong — currently one of Seoul’s most energetic neighborhoods.
The destination: Cafe Onion, arguably the area’s defining landmark. A renovated former factory where exposed concrete and rusted steel beams radiate a beauty born from time itself.
The moment you step inside, the industrial exterior gives way to something unexpected: the warm, toasty scent of fresh bread stimulating every sense. Breads lined up like jewels in a display case — choosing becomes a luxurious dilemma.
What catches the eye immediately is the towering signature item: the Pandoro. Draped in a fine veil of powdered sugar, it stands almost dreamlike against the raw, industrial backdrop.
A Philosophy Worth Carrying Into Everyday Life

Raw concrete walls. Floors worn beautifully by years of use. The flow of something entirely modern running through it all. Not tearing down the old, but breathing new value into it — a renaissance.
The philosophy that this cafe embodies connects to a kind of wisdom worth carrying into everyday life. Enjoying excellent bread while watching the streets of Seongsu-dong scroll past the window. This Seoul journey is still just beginning.
