This hotel was designed based on six pillars of wellness, including “Sleep Well,” “Eat Well,” and “Move Well,” making it an attractive place for a relaxing family vacation. Nearby are MARK IS Minatomirai, Yokohama Museum of Art, and the Red Brick Warehouse, ideal for shopping and strolling. It was the perfect place for a quiet, quality time as the end of the year hotel stay.

A return visit after a long absence: the luxury of a club floor made possible by a points reservation

We chose the Westin Yokohama for the first time in many years to conclude our family vacation in 2025. I made a last-minute reservation with Marriott Bonvoy points and was lucky enough to be assigned a good room on the Club Floor (floors 20-22). The Club Floor is located on a higher floor, with a better view and access to an exclusive lounge as a bonus, which makes the experience much more extraordinary. It was the perfect choice for a relaxing stay for our family of three.

A hotel stay in the Yokohama Minato Mirai area goes hand in hand with the Christmas illumination and New Year’s Eve events and provides a special year-end atmosphere. In my case, I was able to save costs by utilizing points while still enjoying the satisfaction of an upgrade. Early point checking and flexible scheduling are recommended when booking family vacations.

The detailed comfort I felt in my room on the Club Floor

The room I was assigned was a corner room, over 45 square meters in size, with a large window overlooking the Yokohama cityscape. In addition to the king bed, the sofa by the window seemed almost twice as large as in a regular room, and could comfortably accommodate a family of three. The sofa cushions were soft and plush, perfect for relaxing and chatting while watching the night view.

I was particularly pleased with the placement of the minibar. The minibar was designed to face the bed, making it easy to reach for a drink while lying in bed. It is a simple point, but it was convenient when I was thirsty late at night or when my child needed to hydrate without getting up. The minibar is stocked with Nespresso and complimentary bottled water, perfect for a quick family break. The Heavenly Bed was also very comfortable and helped us recover from the end of the year.

I passed on the lounge and chose in-room dining for its charm.

This time, I did not use the club lounge and enjoyed all in-room dining. Room service at the Westin Yokohama is available 24 hours a day (with some time zone restrictions), and the menu is extensive. Many dishes are prepared using local ingredients from Yokohama, reflecting the health-conscious “Eat Well” concept.

The steak I ordered was perfectly cooked, tender and juicy. The sauce was well balanced and everyone in the family was very satisfied. The hotel also offers seafood, pasta, and a Chinese-style menu typical of Yokohama, and the strength of this hotel is the high quality of everything you order. Since we could savor the food in our room, we were able to enjoy our private time at the end of the year without worrying about our children getting fidgety. In-room dining orders can be easily placed from your smartphone and the food is delivered promptly. This is ideal for nights when you don’t want to go out on a family vacation.

Wellness Facilities and Family Holidays at the End of the Year

The hotel has an indoor pool, spa, and 24-hour gymnasium for a wellness-focused stay. The pool is spacious and families can enjoy playing in the water. Massages at the spa were pre-booked and were a great way to unwind from the trip.

Yokohama at the end of the year is beautifully illuminated, and a stroll around the hotel is recommended. A walk while admiring the night view of Minato Mirai is a time to refresh your mind. Returning to our room with our family of three and surrounding ourselves with a meal from the in-room dining room – such a simple time was the best way to end the year 2025. The wellness theme of the hotel makes it the perfect place to forget about the busyness of the end of the year and to regenerate body and soul.

Private Wisdom-like Summary

The end of my 2025 hotel stay at the Westin Yokohama was deeply touched by the accumulation of small luxuries: a spacious room on the club floor, a bed-facing minibar, and in-room dining with a perfect steak. Shared time with family brings a quiet richness that transcends the hustle and bustle of daily life and teaches us the wisdom of “taking care of what is important to us. Closing the end of the year in such a private space – it will be a peaceful preparation for the New Year to come. You, too, should cherish and accumulate such special moments. I am sure that you will find a glimmer of wisdom deep within you.
