Sea, Wind & Spanish – Quiet Luxury in Minato Mirai

Luxury-log

A time when luxury quietly exists so that it fits in with everyday life. It is a table with the sea, food, and dialogue.

A special time at a window seat overlooking the sea.

Yokohama Minato Mirai, Hammerhead. The Spanish restaurant “Del Mar COMEDOR Y TERRAZA” is located in this place where the modern cityscape and the atmosphere of the port are in harmony.

We visited on a calm afternoon. We were shown to a special seat by the window. In front of us was a quiet blue harbor with a pleasant sea breeze gently flowing.

In the soft space created by the Spanish tiles and wood interior, the discreet conversation and the sound of cutlery echoed pleasantly. The luxurious, yet not overly dramatic atmosphere is “just right” for adults.

A variety of dishes to enjoy the delicious taste of seafood

The meal began with the chef’s recommended appetizer, “Assorted Pinchos. The colorful array of seafood, vegetables, and herbs on a baguette was a feast for the eyes.

Next was the “Octopus Galician Style. Tender octopus flavored with olive oil and paprika was served with potatoes. The dish gave me a sense of satisfaction beyond words.

The main dish was a seafood paella. Mussels, shrimp, and squid were lavishly arranged and gently fragrant with saffron. The bounty of the sea filled my mouth and went perfectly with the white wine.

Dessert was crema catalana. When the caramelized crust was cracked open, an aromatic and smooth cream emerged from within, quietly ending the lingering aftertaste of the meal.

A moment that resonates with the seaside air

The view of the harbor through the glass windows changes with time as the sun’s rays change colors and sailboats and water buses slowly come and go. As we gaze out at the view, my wife and I exchange idle chitchat.

It is a luxury to be able to simply gaze out at the sea while waiting for our food to be served. I was able to quietly immerse myself in the richness of “time to do nothing,” which I tend to overlook in my daily life.

Private Wisdom Summary

The afternoon I spent at Del Mar COMEDOR Y TERRAZA was a “moment of sensuality” that was a combination of food, space, and people.

It was not a showy presentation, but a carefully prepared meal and a conversation with a sense of space. The beautiful scenery enveloped us in a quality time. It was an experience that could be called a “luxury of time,” and not just a meal out.

What left a particularly strong impression on me was the Galician octopus. The power of the ingredients, the technique, and the story behind the dish were a quiet surprise to us.

Luxury is an experience that quietly speaks to the senses.
